ITHACA, N.Y. – The Purple Eagles were defeated by the Cornell Big Red, 82-59, on Thursday night.

Game Recap
First Quarter
  • The Big Red went on a 9-0 run to open the game and had a 13-6 lead over Niagara with three and a half minutes to go in the first quarter.
  • Maggie McIntyre sank her first three of the game, followed by a bucket from Dagny Davidsdottir, to leave NU trailing by just four points, 15-11.
  • The Big Red led narrowly, 20-13, at the end of the quarter.
Second Quarter
  • Ally Haar scored five straight points for the Purple Eagles in the second quarter, leaving Niagara trailing by just four, 22-18. A bucket from Jai Moore with a little over eight and a half minutes left in the first half put Niagara within striking distance of the lead, 22-20.
  • McIntyre made two more 3-pointers in the second, with Adia Brisker and Morgan Baughman also adding three points, but Niagara trailed Cornell, 43-32, going into halftime.
Third Quarter
  • The Big Red held Niagara to just nine points in the third quarter.
  • Brisker opened scoring for NU, sinking a trey with 6:17 to go to keep Niagara within 15 points of Cornell, 50-35.
  • Moore, Emerald Ekpiteta and Davidsdottir all added buckets, but Niagara trailed, 63-41, going into the final 10 minutes of play.
Fourth Quarter
  • The Purple Eagles opened the fourth quarter on a 10-run, including four points from Moore and Brisker and two from Haar, to cut Cornell's lead, 63-51.
  • The Big Red, however, maintained their lead for the remainder of the game and Niagara fell to Cornell, 82-59.

Eagle's Eye On…
  • Brisker led Niagara with a career-high 15 points.
  • Brisker and Ekpiteta each had a team-best five rebounds.
  • Moore added 10 points and McIntyre had nine.
  • Brisker and Haar each had two steals for the Purple Eagles.
  • McIntyre and Haar led NU in assists with three each.

  • The Purple Eagles return to the Gallagher Center to host the Oakland Golden Grizzlies on Monday, Nov. 25 at 7:00 p.m. The game will air on ESPN3.
