VESTAL, N.Y. – The Purple Eagles were defeated by Binghamton, 74-55, on Saturday.

Game Recap
First Quarter
  • The Bearcats took the lead early in the first quarter, 9-4, but a 3-pointer from Jai Moore with 6:46 remaining left Niagara trailing by just two points, 9-7.
  • Binghamton led, 11-7, but a jumper from Adia Brisker and a layup from Olivia Mason tied the score, 11-11.
  • Niagara took the lead, 13-11, after a jumper from Maggie McIntyre but Binghamton quickly tied things up, 13-13.
  • The Purple Eagles trailed the Bearcats narrowly, 15-13, at the end of the first quarter.
Second Quarter
  • Binghamton went on an 8-0 run to open the second quarter, taking a 23-13 lead over the Purple Eagles.
  • The Bearcats extended their lead, 33-19, but a trey from Morgan Baughman brought NU back within 11, 33-22 and kicked off a 6-0 run for Niagara.
  • Brisker added a bucker off a steal with 22 seconds left to close out scoring for NU in the first half.
  • Niagara trailed Binghamton by just seven points, 35-28, going into halftime.
Third Quarter
  • Niagara went on a 5-0 run, including a 3-pointer from McIntyre, to open the third quarter and come within two points of the Bearcats, 35-33.
  • Binghamton answered with a 6-0 run to extend its lead, 41-33, with a little over six minutes to play.
  • Baughman hit back-to-back threes to leave NU trailing by just two points, 41-39, with 5:11 remaining.
  • NU still trailed by two, 43-41, after a jumper from Jordan Edwards, but Binghamton went on a 9-0 run to take a 10-point lead, 51-41 and the Bearcats led, 51-42, going into the final quarter.
Fourth Quarter
  • McIntyre sank another 3-pointer with a little under nine minutes to go in the fourth to keep Niagara within 10 points of the Bearcats, 55-45.
  • Binghamton, however, began to pull away, taking a 67-52 lead over Niagara with a little over two and a half minutes left in the game.
  • McIntyre made another 3-point shot with 2:13 to go, but Binghamton still had the lead, 67-55.
  • The Bearcats did not allow the Purple Eagles anymore points in the fourth quarter and came away with the 74-55 win.

Eagle's Eye On…
  • McIntyre and Moore each had 13 points for Niagara.
  • McIntyre led NU in rebounding with six rebounds. Brisker and Moore both brought down five rebounds.
  • Baughman added nine points for the Purple Eagles and went 3-for-5 from the 3-point line.
  • Emerald Ekpiteta had a team-high two steals.
