POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Purple Eagles women's soccer team started this week two-game road trip with a 3-0 defeat to the Marist Red Foxes on Wednesday afternoon.

SYNOPSIS
Two set-piece goals and a late third goal made the difference in an otherwise close contest.  The Red Foxes made the most out of their chances while limiting the Purple Eagles to only a few scoring opportunities.

MOMENTS 
21' – Katelin white quick reaction saved off a free kick.
27' (goal) – Marist scored its first goal coming on a free kick. Alexa Svensson floated a ball into the box and Nicole Sasso headed it home.
45' (goal) – Marist added its second in the final minute of the half. Niagara failed to clear the ball out of the box coming off a Marist corner; Sasso pounces on the loose ball in box for her second goal.
61' – Hailey Bicknell long range shot is saved.
74' (goal) – Coming off a throw-in, Chiara Di Palma cross in the box finds Katey Samarro who toe-poke the ball into the net.
88' – Taylor Requa strikes a free kick wide of the goal.
90' – Veda Hensel has a good effort from 25 yards out that forced the keeper to make a tough save.

  • Annie Ibey had a game-high six shots.
  • Katelin White made three saves in her first career start and minutes as a Purple Eagle.
