HAMDEN, CONN. – The Niagara University women's soccer team lost 3-0 to the Quinnipiac Bobcats on Saturday afternoon.

SYNOPSIS
The Purple Eagles' road struggles continued in their afternoon contest with the Bobcats. Niagara only mustered a few scoring opportunities in the 90 minutes, while Quinnipiac was opportunistic with its chances. The Bobcats scored a crucial goal in the final minute of the first half to lead 2-0. NU had the better of play in the second half, despite Quinnipiac adding a goal late in the half.

MOMENTS 
5' – Kelsey Araujo sends a cross in the box to Annie Ibey, whose shot is saved and forces a corner kick.
24' (goal) – Katelin White was quick off her line to deny Ally Grunstein. However, the Bobcats quickly recovered possession and 28 seconds later, Grunstein played a cross in the box which found Kayla Mingachos who one-time shot found the far post.
44' (goal) – Lauren Wendland sneaks in behind the backline to receive the ball in the box and her pass finds Olivia Scott who shoots in the open net.
58' – Hailey Bicknell chips pass finds Araujo head, but her shot is saved for a corner kick.
82' (goal) – Quinnipiac adds a third, this time on a free kick. Katie Schwartz drives the ball into the box and Emiley Looney gets a touch as the ball goes into the net.   

EAGLE'S EYE ON…
  • Katelin White made a career-high eight saves on 13 shots faced.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • After going 3-0-1 in the first four meetings, NU has lost the last three encounters with the Bobcats.
 
UP NEXT
  • The Purple Eagles return home to begin a three-game homestand starting on Wednesday, October 16 against archrival Canisius at 7 p.m.
