The Niagara Purple Eagles begin a four-game homestand over the next two weeks on Tuesday, January 22 against the Saint Peter's Peacocks at 8 p.m.
 
Scene Setter
•  The Purple Eagles will play Saint Peter's (Jan. 22), Monmouth (Jan. 26), Canisius (Jan. 30), and Quinnipiac (Feb. 3) as part of their season-long four-game homestand.
•  Five of Niagara's nine wins have come at the Gallagher Center with victories over St. Bonaventure, New Hampshire, Cornell, Norfolk State, and Iona.
•  Niagara won its first conference road game of the campaign by holding off Quinnipiac in a 75-72 victory on January 19 to split a pair of road games last week.
•  The Purple Eagles and Peacocks have alternated victories in the last 10 meetings; Saint Peter's won the last encounter.
•  Chris Casey was an assistant coach at Saint Peter's from 1990-98 where he helped the Peacocks to the 1991 and 1995 MAAC Championships and NCAA Tournament appearances. Casey is 5-5 against Saint Peter's as head coach at Niagara.
 
Tipoff Tidbits
•  Niagara shot a season-high 51.9 percent from the field and a season-high 58 percent from the 3-point line in the win at Quinnipiac on January 19. 
•  In the win at Quinnipiac, Marvin Prochet tied a career-high in scoring with 24 points to share game-high honors for his seventh 20-point game of the season, which is tied for third in the MAAC. His career-best .818 field goal percentage is tied for league-high this season.
•  Marvin Prochet is averaging a career-high 17.2 points per game which are third in the MAAC. He is shooting a career-high 43.7 percent from the 3-point line which is second in the league and a career-high 43.7 percent from the field.
•  Dominic Robb leads the MAAC in total blocks (51) and blocks per game (2.6) while ranking sixth and ninth, respectively, in those categories nationally.
•  James Towns sits atop of the MAAC in free throw percentage with a career-high 82.3 percent. Towns is also averaging career-high numbers in assists per game (4.1) and in assist/turnover ratio (1.5) which are both fifth in the MAAC.
•  Dominic Robb is 13 blocks away from tying Joe Arlauckas ('87) who finished his career with 220 blocks, for first place.
•  Marvin Prochet collected his MAAC-leading seventh double-double with a team-high 20 points and 10 rebounds against Iona on January 11. Prochet has seven double-doubles in 16 games. 
•  Niagara leads the MAAC in rebounds per game (37.2) and defensive rebounds per game (26.8) while placing second in blocks per game (4.0), turnovers per game (11.9), and in free throw percentage (.741).
 
On The Court
Saint Peter's Peacocks (5-12, 2-3 MAAC)
•  Saint Peter's was picked 10th in the MAAC Preseason Poll and returns eight letterwinners.
•  The Peacocks are 2-3 in league games with wins over Siena and Marist.
•  Davauhnte Turner is second in the MAAC in scoring at 17.5 points per game and leads the team in assists (2.9). Samuel Idowu is second on the team in scoring at 11.1 points per game and is second in the MAAC in blocks per game (1.5).
•  Saint Peter's leads the MAAC in scoring defense (60.4), but is last in scoring offense (58.8) in five conference games. The Peacocks are averaging a MAAC-best 4.4 blocks per game.
•  Saint Peter's is 0-9 on the road this season.
