CARY, N.C. – The Niagara baseball team closed out the Army West Point Classic with an 11-7 loss to the Bryant Bulldogs on Sunday.

Game Recap
- Niagara took the early lead in the first inning. Peter Battaglia singled to left center to score Dawson Bailey. Olson doubled to right center to score Battaglia and Greg Cullen and Owen Dziados singled to right center to send Olson home and give NU a 4-0 lead over the Bulldogs.
- Bryant answered quickly, scoring five times in the second inning to take a one-run lead, 5-4.
- The Purple Eagles tied thing up, 5-5, in the third after an RBI single from Dziados.
- The Bulldogs reclaimed the lead, 8-5, in the top of the fifth inning. In the bottom of the inning, Trevor McCauley tripled down the right field line to score Cullen and an RBI single from Olson once again put NU down by only one run, 8-7.
- The Bulldogs, however, dominated the remainder of the game, scoring once in the sixth and twice in the ninth to come away with the 11-7 victory.
Inside the Numbers
- Cullen led the Purple Eagles at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4. He also had a team-high three runs scored and two doubles.
- Olson led the team in RBIs with three.
- Battaglia, Dziados and Olson each recorded two hits.
- Ben Erwin (0-1) took the loss on the mound. Erwin fanned four and allowed three earned runs in 3.0 innings pitched.
