Game Recap
- The Herd took a quick 4-0 lead over the Purple Eagles in the bottom of the first inning. Marshall added another run in the second to extend its lead, 5-0.
- In the top of the third, the Purple Eagles got on the board. Serrano singled, scoring Bailey. The Purple Eagles trailed, 5-1, midway through the third.
- The Herd tacked on another run in the bottom of the third to lead the Purple Eagles, 6-1.
- Niagara scored once more in the top of the eighth. Owen Dziados hit a sac fly to score Greg Cullen. However, it was not enough to overcome Marshall's 6-2 lead.
Inside the Numbers
- Serrano led the Purple Eagles with two hits.
- Serrano and Dziados each had one RBI.
- Bailey had one stolen base for Niagara.
