NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – Keleaf Tate's 3-pointer with 1.1 seconds on the clock lifted the Niagara Purple Eagles to their third straight win with a 77-74 victory over the Cornell Big Red on Sunday.

Game Summary
For the third straight contest, the game's outcome was decided in the final seconds. The Purple Eagles erased a nine-point deficit in the final eight minutes and completed the comeback with a last-second 3-pointer.

Niagara, which trailed 66-57 with 8:16 remaining, was down 70-65 with 3:53 left before going on a 6-0 run to take a 71-70 lead with 1:20 remaining. There would be two more lead changes, as well as, three ties in the final minute after Cornell's Matt Morgan tied the game at 74-74 with 10 seconds left.

On the en suing possession, Dominic Robb hustle to save the ball from going out of bounds to find Tate on the wing and the sophomore confidently sank his fifth triple of the game. Morgan's halfcourt heave fell short as NU edged the Big Red for the second consecutive season.

It was a tale of runs in the first half by both teams. The Big Red used a 7-0 spurt to take a 13-9 lead before NU answered with an 11-3 run buoyed by three 3-pointers by Prochet. Cornell went ahead, 23-20, after a 7-0 run but the Purple Eagles sprinted back in front with an 8-2 run. Prochet connected on his fifth straight 3-pointer to give NU a 31-27 lead with 3:35 left in the first half. The Big Red scored the game's next five points. The game was tied at 35-35 with 1:29 left as Cornell went into halftime with a 40-37 lead.  The Purple Eagles started the second half on a 5-0 run to regain the lead at 42-40, but trailed from the 15-minute mark until the 1:20 mark.
