NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Niagara men's and women's swimming and diving teams were defeated by St. Bonaventure in their final meet of the regular season on Saturday. The Bonnies bested the men, 154-77, and the women, 169-71.
Prior to the start of the swimming portion of the meet, Niagara honored its graduating seniors. From the men's team, Nathan Booth, Tanner Morey, Alexander Pizzo and Andrew Wilson were honored. From the women's team, Julia Casolo, Emily Deck, Annie Eckhardt, Bridgette Ehrmann, Angelica Gordon, Jenna Sliwowski and Brianna Smith were recognized.
Men's Meet Notes
- Nicolas Winograd was a double winner, placing first in the 100 breast with a time of 59.13 and first in the 200 IM with a time of 1:56.96.
- Nick Rogers placed first in the 100 free, finishing the event in 47.40. He took second place in the 50 free with a time of 22.11.
- Kaden Jesperson swam the 200 free in 1:46.62, earning a second place finish. He also placed second in the 500 free with a time of 4:51.78.
- Daniel Ronen placed second in the 1000 free with a time of 10:13.87.
Women's Meet Notes
- Hannah Charlton took first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:16.66.
- The relay team of Lauren Nicastro, Hayley Tasselmyer, Charlton and Isabella DeSimon placed second in the 200 medley relay, swimming the event in 1:52.40.
- Casolo placed second in the 1000 free with a time of 11:23.55 and second in the 100 butterfly with a time of 58.33.
- Kristen Suarez took second place in the 50 free with a time of 25.24 and second in the 100 free with a time of 54.99.
- Cara Mergner placed third in the 3-meter dive with a score of 213.90.
- Tasselmyer took second in the 100 breast, finishing the event in 1:07.80.
- The relay team of Suarez, Yvonne Schere, Eckhardt and Tasselmyer placed second in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:42.24.
