NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Niagara women's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to five games with a 2-1 victory over the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights on Friday.

Game Recap
- Niagara came out strong on offense, taking an early lead over the Knights. In the 14th minute, Bachmann crossed the ball to Betts, who finished in the top corner of the net to give NU a 1-0 advantage.
- The Purple Eagles continued to create chances in the first half, with three shots from Kelsey Araujo and one from Tuesday Jordan.
- In the final minute of the first half, Bachmann extended NU's lead, 2-0, scoring inside the box near the far post.
- Fairleigh Dickinson scored in the 90th minute, but it was not enough to overcome Niagara's stalwart defense, which held the Knights scoreless for almost the entire game.
Coach's Corner
- "I thought we played well tonight," said head coach Peter Veltri. "We scored two fantastic goals which really gave us the boost that we needed to finish the game off. Going forward, we need to continue to improve and play more of our style of soccer. I thought that defensively, we were really good again tonight."
