JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Niagara volleyball opened its Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference schedule with a convincing three-set win over Saint Peters on Saturday for its fourth straight win.
Match Summary
The open set was close through the first 11 points. A kill by
Draik Banks started a 14-5 run as the Purple Eagles sprinted to a 25-15 victory. Niagara finished the set with a .269 hitting percentage. Niagara started the second set on a 10-3 run and maintained at least a five-point lead for the rest of the set. Niagara pushed through the third set and finished with a match-high 15 kills.
Eagle's Eye On…
- Nicole Matheis had her team-leading fourth double-double of the season with a match-high 10 kills and had 13 digs.
- Rylee Hunt had a match-high 20 digs for her fourth straight match with at least 20 digs. Hunt has been in double-digits in digs each match this season.
- Setters Meghan Higley and Alexis Gray had 11 and 10 assists, respectively.
- Jaycie Roberts had eight kills and seven digs. .
- Niagara has won seven straight in the series.
- This is Niagara's second straight sweep. NU won 3-0 over NJIT last Saturday.
