Biography
Banks comes to Niagara from McAllen Memorial High School in Texas where she was a two-sport letterwinner in volleyball and basketball. In her time at McAllen Memorial she collected numerous accolades including ROTC Iron Woman of the Year as a freshman and a two-time honorable mention in basketball. Draik's volleyball career began to blossom in her junior year. She earned the Coaches' Choice award as the Mustangs went 33-10 and advanced to the state championships regional semifinals. Draik had a breakout senior season where she was named to the Rio Grande Valley All-Star team. She averaged 2.7 kills per set in 84 sets played and had a .312 hitting percentage en route to being named team offensive player of the year. Draik was named MVP Blocker of the Year as she finished with 60 total blocks (41 assists and 19 solo). Draik helped lead the Mustangs to a 35-8 record and an appearance in University Interscholastic League (UIL) State Championships Semifinals for the second straight year. Â In the classroom, Draik was an Honor Roll student, a member of the National Honor Society, and represented McAllen in the Holiday Float for the City as an outstanding female athlete. Draik plans to major in Biology.
