OLEAN, N.Y. – The Niagara baseball team dropped a game to Little 3 rival St. Bonaventure, 7-2, on Wednesday.

Game Recap
- St. Bonaventure took the early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, but Niagara came back to tie things up, 1-1, in the top of the third. Tanner Kirwer scored on a throwing error by the Bonnies catcher.
- The Bonnies, however, continued to pick up momentum on offense, scoring once in the bottom of the fourth and tacking on five runs in the bottom of the sixth.
- In the top of the ninth, Niagara tried to even things up with the Bonnies but, despite an RBI single from McCauley, the Purple Eagles fell short.
Inside the Numbers
- McCauley led NU with one RBI and one double.
- Cullen and McCauley each had a team-best two hits.
- On the mound, Nate Mascellino (1-2) struck out two batters and allowed two runs in 4.0 innings pitched. Mascellino took the loss for the Purple Eagles. Alex MacKinnon allowed five earned runs in 1.0 inning pitched.
