RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Niagara University volleyball team handled Manhattan in three sets on Saturday.
Match Summary
The first set was the most competitive among the three sets played on the afternoon. With the score knotted at 9-9, Niagara scored three straight points with
Nicole Matheis providing two kills. The Purple Eagles, then, used a 7-2 run to build a 20-14. A kill by Matheis ended the set in favor of the Purple Eagles at 25-20.
The Purple Eagles cruised to a 25-16 second set victory. Niagara had a set-high 20 kills on 29 attempts with only one error for a .655 hitting percentage; NU also had an 82 percent (14-for-17) sideout. NU raced out to a 12-3 lead in the third set on its way to convincing sweep of the Jaspers.
