The Niagara volleyball team heads to Connecticut for matches against co-MAAC leaders Fairfield on Saturday and Quinnipiac on Sunday.


Purple Points

• The Purple Eagles are coming off of two home conference wins versus the Rider Broncs 3-1 (9/24) and the Saint Peter's Peacocks 3-0 (9/25).
• Niagara is 3-0 at home this season.
• Junior Madison May set a new career-high with 19 kills against Rider, and also added 16 kills in the win versus Saint Peter's.
• Meghan Higley set a new career-high 22 assists, as well as season-high six digs in the four set match against Rider.
• In their match against Rider, Alexis Gray posted her seventh double-double of the season, with 26 assists and 10 digs. Gray also tacked on one ace in their match against Saint Peter's, making her tied for fifth all-time in service aces (114) for the Purple Eagles.
• Libero Rylee Hunt has had 14 consecutive matches with double-digit digs.

• The Purple Eagles have continued to move up the ranks, and are now tied for 19th in the nation in service aces (97), with Alexis Gray tied for 24th in the NCAA with 25 aces.

Record Watch

• Rylee Hunt is 22 digs away from tying Kelly Cruttenden ('97) for fourth all-time (1,401) for Niagara.

MAAC Standouts

• Alexis Gray ranks second in service aces with an average of 0.41 service aces per set, as well as 6th in assists, averaging 6.79 assists per set.
• Madison May and Nicole Matheis are ranked in the top 10 for kills in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. May is 6th with an average of 2.89 and Matheis is 7th with an average of 2.82 kills per set.
• Alex Stone ranks third in blocks with an average of 1.02 blocks per set, with teammate Rylee Hunt ranking third in digs, averaging 4.41 disg per set.

Across The Net: Fairfield Stags (12-5, 5-0 MAAC)

• Niagara is 10-30 all-time against Fairfield.
• The Purple Eagles split two meetings with the Stags last season.
• Niagara is in search of its first win at Fairfield since 2011.
• Fairfield's Skyler Day and Megan Theiller lead the MAAC in kills. Day ranks 1st with an average of 3.78 kills per set, and Theiller rests 2nd with an average of 3.76 kills per set.
