FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Niagara volleyball team had its two-match win streak snapped in a three-set defeat at MAAC co-leaders Fairfield on Saturday.
Match Summary
- The Stags were powered by a .352 hitting percentage to go along with 51 digs, 40 assists and eight blocks.
- Fairfield opened the match with a 6-1 run on its way to winning the first set, 25-10.
- In the second set, NU trailed 14-12 after a kill by Madison May and later trailed 19-16 before Fairfield scored six straight points to win the set.
- The Purple Eagles fell behind early to start the third set. NU cut the lead to 13-10, but it was the closet NU would get. Â

- Nicole Matheis led Niagara with seven kills and added five digs.
- A pair of Purple Eagles extended their respective double-digit streaks. Alexis Gray led Niagara with 11 assists to have at least 11 assists in every match this season. Rylee Hunt had 12 digs to extend her double-digit digs run to 16 straight matches.
