The Niagara Purple Eagles head to Orlando to play in the annual Rebel Spring Games from March 9-14.

Purple Eagles 101:

• Niagara began the season with four games at the Cleveland State Dome Tournament from Feb. 6-7, but was unable to participate in the Elon Tournament from Feb. 28-March 1.
• Junior Sydney Smyers was named MAAC pitcher of the week for her performance at the Cleveland State Dome Tournament
• Freshman Sarah Trifoso was named MAAC rookie of the week with her .300 batting average .364 on base percentage in the first weekend of play at the CSU Dome Tournament.
• Senior Desarae Maldonado and senior Katelyn Guarin lead the team with a .333 batting average and look to lead the team to their first win of the young season this weekend.
• Maldonado leads the team with two RBIs on the season.
• Guarin and Maldonado lead the MAAC and NU with two doubles a piece.
• Smyers is second in the MAAC with 17.0 innings pitched
