Live StatsThe Niagara Purple Eagles continue their season opening road trip on Sunday against the Saint Joseph's Hawks at 5 p.m. for their second game of the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament.
The Purple Eagles engineered a spirited second half rally which ultimately fell short in a 67-50 defeat to the Old Dominion Monarchs on Friday in their season opener.
NU now faces a St. Joe's team that defeated local rival Drexel, 82-81, in its season opener at Hagan Arena on Friday.

Tipoff Tidbits• Sophomore guard
Matt Scott led the Purple Eagles in scoring and in rebounding in the season opener at Old Dominion. The Brooklyn native finished with 19 points and tied a career-high with eight rebounds. It was the third time Scott has led the team in scoring and first time he led the team in scoring and rebounding in the same game.
• Five Purple Eagles made debut in the season opener –
Marvin Prochet,
Justin Satchell,
Chris Barton, Maurice Taylor, Jr.,
Dominic Robb. Satchell had the most impressive first game with 12 points and seven rebounds.

Emile Blackman was named to the Preseason All-MAAC Third Team and the College Sports Madness' MAAC Second Team.

Brotherly Love Connection• Sophomore guard
Karonn Davis, a Philadelphia native, won a pair of Pennsylvania Independent Schools state titles at Friend's Central High School.
• First-year director of basketball operations and former Purple Eagle standout
Tyrone Lewis is from Levittown and attended Harry S. Truman High School.

Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament • The Basketball Hall of Fame hosts the annual Tip-Off Tournament each November. The
Tip-Off Tournament is an NCAA exempt men's basketball tournament sponsored by the
Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC)
• Niagara is joined by Big 4 rival Buffalo, Florida, North Carolina A&T, Old Dominion, Purdue, Saint Jo-seph's and Vermont in this year's field.
• NU started its portion of the tournament at Old Dominion followed by a trip to Saint Joseph's on Nov. 15, before the tournament moves to the Mohegan Sun Arena on Nov. 21 and 22.
• The Purple Eagles will be in the Springfield Bracket with Buffalo, North Carolina A&T and Vermont. NU opens against Vermont on Saturday and will play in either the Springfield Bracket consolation game or championship game on Sunday against Buffalo or North Carolina A&T.
• Niagara participated in the Hall of Fame Tournament one previous time. Niagara opened its 1975-76 season at the Hall of Fame Tournament in Springfield, Mass. against Fairfield (W, 83-78) and UMass (L, 92-81).

On The CourtSaint Joseph's Hawks (1-0/0-0 Atlantic 10)• St. Joe's returns nine letterwinners from last season's team that finished with a record of 13-18 last season, including and a conference record of 7-11.
• Preseason All-Atlantic 10 selection forward Deandre' Bembry, who led the A-10 in scoring last season, scored a game-high 23 points in the Hawks' win over Drexel on Friday.
• Three other Hawks were in double figures - Aaron Brown, Pierfrancesco Oliva, Isaiah Miles who also led the team with 10 rebounds.

Against the Hawks (NU leads 2-1)• Niagara and Saint Joseph's have met a total of three times throughout their programs' existences. Niagara won its two games against the Hawks by an average of 11.0 points per game.
• The previous meetings have all been played in Philadelphia.
