Live StatsThe Niagara Purple Eagles will face the Manhattan Jaspers on Saturday, Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. in search of a season sweep.
On Jan. 2, the Purple Eagles dispatched Manhattan, 73-61, at the Gallagher Center behind season-highs in points (73), field goal percentage (59.5%), 3-point field goal percentage (53.8%) and assists (21).
Niagara and Manhattan have alternated season sweeps in the last three seasons. The Purple Eagles swept the series during the 2012-13 season, winning both games by four points, while Manhattan swept in 2011-12 and 2013-14.
Tipoff Tidbits• Matt Scott was named MAAC Rookie Of The Week on Jan. 5 after averaging 10 points per game, 3.3 rebounds per game and 2.0 assists per game. Scott is the first freshman to win rookie of the week honors since TJ Cline won the award three times during the 2012-13 season.
• Dominique Reid had game and career-highs with 18 points and with 11 rebounds en route to his first career double-double against Monmouth on Jan. 4. In Niagara's last four games, Reid is averaging a team-best 11 points per game and 5.8 rebounds per game.
• The freshman trio of Matt Scott, Karonn Davis and Dominique Reid accounted for 49 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists in the 73-61 win over Manhattan. Scott scored a game-high and Purple Eagle season-high 23 points, Davis added 14 points and six rebounds, while Reid scored 12 points and had a team- and career-best five assists.
• Niagara had five players – Rayvon Harris, Ramone Snowden, Emile Blackman, Wesley Myers and Dominique Reid - in double figures against Arkansas State for the first time since Feb. 7, 2014 against Iona.
• Ramone Snowden dished out a career-high seven assists against Arkansas State. The seven assists are the most since Tahjere McCall had seven versus Manhattan on Feb. 9, 2014.
• The Purple Eagles had season-highs in points (73), first half points (42), field goal percentage (59.5%), 3-point field goal percentage (53.8%) and in assists (21) in the win over Manhattan.
• Niagara's 21 assists against Manhattan are the most since having 21 versus Saint Peter's on March 2, 2013.
• Wesley Myers has scored in double figures in seven of the last eight games. Myers scored a career-high 21 points to share game-high honors at Siena on Jan. 8.
• Niagara had a season-high +10 rebound margin in the win over Albany.
• According to KenPom.com, Niagara is the
FIFTH youngest team in the nation. NU has 13 underclassmen on the roster.
Niagara In January• The Purple Eagles are 17-16 in January the last four seasons.
• The Purple Eagles went 9-1 during the 2012-13 season for their best record in the month since 7-0 during the 1958-59 season.
On The CourtManhattan Jaspers (6-8, 3-2 MAAC)• Since falling to Niagara, the Jaspers have won two straight with wins at Canisius and versus Saint Peter's. Manhattan has won four of its last five games.
• Emmy Andujar (13.8 ppg), Shane Richards (11.9 ppg) and Ashton Pankey (10.5 ppg) are averaging double-figures scoring.
Against the Jaspers (Manhattan leads 47-31)• Niagara trails the all-time series, but has won 14 of the past 20 meetings.
• Niagara will be seeking to sweep the season series for the seccond time in the last three seasons.
• The Purple Eagles are 6-3 in their last nine visits to Manhattan.

Scott Earns MAAC Rookie Of The Week Award• Freshman guard Matt Scott was tabbed MAAC Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week on Jan. 5
• Scott averaged 10 points per game, 3.3 rebounds per game and 2.0 assists per game as the Niagara Purple Eagles went 2-1 last week.
• In Niagara's win over Manhattan on Jan. 2, Scott scored a game-high 23 points on 7 of 11 shooting from the field, 2-for-4 behind the arc, and went 7-for-10 at the free-throw line. His 23 points are the most by a Purple Eagle this season.
• For the week, Scott shot 47 percent from the field, 33 percent from behind the 3-point line and 77 percent from the free-throw line.
