Box Score 2 LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – The Niagara Purple Eagles split their doubleheader at the Siena Saints, falling 8-0 in game one before rallying to win game two 4-3, on Sunday to conclude the season.
Niagara 0, Siena 8NU (18-30, 8-12 MAAC) was shutout in an abbreviated game one. Siena (28-24, 13-7 MAAC) scored two runs in the first inning on a home run, and added three runs in both the third and fourth innings.

Jennifer Sansano pitched all four innings to finish the season with an 11-10 record. Her 162.1 innings pitched are the second most in a single season. Sansano completes her two-year career at Niagara tied for fifth all-time in wins with 22, third all-time in strikeouts with 335 and third all-time in ERA at 2.33.

Rachel Ziarnowski combined to go 6-for-10 with three RBIs as the Purple Eagles rallied to beat the Saints in game two.
The duo each had a RBI double in the fourth inning to put Niagara up 2-1. However, Siena crept back in front with one run in the fifth and sixth innings to lead 3-2 heading into the seventh. Facing two outs,
Ali VanGiesen singled to third base to score the game-tying run at 3-3.
In the eighth inning, Ziarnowski singled to third base to score
Katelyn Gruarin from third base as NU went ahead, 4-3. Siena had a chance to tie or win the game in its half of the inning. The Saints had two runners on base with two outs when a runner's interference call on the runner going from first to second ended the game.

Bridget Hogan earned her first win of the season and Niagara's 14 hits were a season-high against a MAAC team.
