Box Score 2 NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Niagara softball team swept the Rider Broncs, 1-0 and 6-2, on Sunday to run its winning streak in the series to 10 games.

Aileen Hinton - played an instrumental role in taking game one.
Sansano (10-9) won the pitching duel between Rider's Delaney DeMello, who kept Niagara scoreless until extra innings. Sansano allowed only two hits while striking out eight batters for the seventh time this season in eight innings for the complete game shutout.
The game was at a scoreless stalemate entering the bottom of the eighth inning. Richberg led off the inning with a walk and later advanced to second on an error and to third on a sacrifice bunt. Hinton followed with a single to second base to score Richberg for the game-winning run.
Rider 2, Niagara 6Five different Purple Eagles (16-28, 6-10 MAAC) had RBIs, while
Kim Bryson earned her fourth win of the season and Sansano collected the save.
NU scored three runs in the third inning to take a 3-1 lead.

Ali VanGiesen to tie the game at 1-1. Richberg followed two batters later with a two-run homer. NU increased its lead to 5-1 in the fifth inning when
Chanelle Ward and
Bridget Hogan each had RBIs. In the sixth inning, the Purple Eagles added their sixth run on a RBI single by
Ally Gay in her only at-bat in the game.
Niagara concludes its home schedule on Wednesday against Little 3 rival St. Bonaventure at 3 p.m.
