AKRON, Ohio – The Niagara Purple Eagles dropped a pair to the Akron Zips, 10-1 and 11-0, on Saturday to snap their two-game winning streak.

Niagara scored the game's first run in the second inning.
Rebecca Saggiomo hit her first career home run with a solo shot over right field. It would be NU's only run of the day.
A seven-run second inning by the Zips opened the game up for the home team. Akron batted around as five different players collected RBIs. The Zips added three runs in the fourth inning to take a 10-1 lead as the game was called.
Niagara 0, Akron 11
The Purple Eagles (8-11) fell to score a run and committed five errors in game two of the doubleheader. The Zips, who defeated Niagara 3-0 in the Rebel Spring Games in Orlando, would score in every inning they were at-bat in the five-inning shortened game.
Akron (13-6) jumped to a 4-0 lead after pushing across four runs in the first inning, and added two runs in the second and third and three in the fourth.
Niagara is back on the field on March 27 for a doubleheader at Colgate.
