Men's Basketball Returns Home To Face Marist

After three straight road games, the Niagara Purple Eagles return to the Gallagher Center to host the Marist Red Foxes on Jan. 24 at 7 p.m.

Niagara went 1-2 in its three-game road swing, including collecting its first road win of the season on Jan. 16 versus Fairfield. The Purple Eagles are back at the Gallagher Center where they have won three of their five games.

Friday will be the first meeting between the Purple Eagles and Red Foxes since Niagara escaped Poughkeepsie, N.Y. with a last-second, 57-54 win on Feb. 15, 2013. The Purple Eagles have won eight of the last 11 meetings, including six straight at the Gallagher Center.

Tipoff Tidbits
• Antoine Mason moved into ninth all-time in career scoring at Niagara on Jan. 22 after netting a team-high 29 points at Canisius.
• Marvin Jordan set his career-high in points by dropping 27 against Marist during his freshman campaign on Feb. 6, 2011. That game also witnessed the program's first-ever triple-double by then-senior guard Anthony Nelson.
• Wesley Myers played in a career-high 40 minutes and had a career-best four assists in his first career start at Canisius on Jan. 22.
• Niagara's 14 assists at Canisius are tied for the second most this season (Western Carolina). NU had a season-high 15 assists at Iona.
• Rayvon Harris was the third Purple Eagle in double figures against Canisius with 10 points. Harris has scored in double figures in three of the last five games.

• Antoine Mason has 24 straight games in double figures.
• His career-high 39 points versus Brown are tied for the 11th most in NCAA Division I this season.
• Mason has nine 30-point games this season, including a stretch of five straight (Nov. 21-30).
•  Mason scored at least 20 points in 11 straight games dating back to last season (snapped on Dec. 6) and has scored at least 20 points in 18 of 20 games this season.
•  Mason has scored at least 20 points in a half eight times this season, including six times in the second half (five straight from Nov. 21-30).

• Antoine Mason entered the top-20 all-time scorers list at Niagara on Nov. 30.
• Mason, who started the season 38th on the list, is currently ninth and is 16 points away from moving ahead of Alex Ellis ('58) for eighth all-time.  

On The Court
Marist Red Foxes (6-12, 3-5 MAAC)

• Marist is 6-3 in its last nine games, including a five-game winning streak in December and January.
•  Senior Adam Kemp is leading the team with 7.8 rebounds per game to go along with 8.7 points and 2.0 blocks per game.
• Junior Chavaughn Lewis is leading the team in scoring and steals per game with 16.6 points per game and 1.7 steals per game, respectively.

Against the Red Foxes (Niagara leads, 22-15)
• Niagara has won eight of the last 11 meetings in the series that started on Dec 5, 1987.
• The Purple Eagles have won the last six meetings at the Gallagher Center, which is the longest home winning streak by either team in the series.
• NU picked up its second win in the last six trips to Marist on Feb. 15, 2013 to complete the regular season sweep last season.
