The Niagara softball team (2-9) continues its tour of the Sunshine State by participating in the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Fla. March 7-8.
On day one, the Purple Eagles have single games scheduled against Holy Cross and Sacred Heart before facing St. Francis (Pa.) and University of Tennessee at Martin on day two of the annual tournament. The last time Niagara participated in this tournament was during the 2009 season when the team won seven games and dropped just one to St. Francis (Pa.) en route to a 30-19 season and an appearance in the MAAC Championship.

Amanda Werth leads Niagara with nine hits on the season and a team-high .346 batting-average. Junior
Brittany Richberg hit 3-for-6 and added a stolen base in Tuesday’s doubleheader against Michigan State.

Jennifer Sansano (2-3) has been a force at the plate this season, striking out 31 batters in 33.1 innings while holding her opposition to a .228 batting-average. In six appearances, Sansano has registered a 2.31 ERA.
