First Place Purps
The Niagara Purple Eagles, who are a MAAC-best 6-2 in conference road games, wrap up their conference road schedule against the Manhattan Jaspers on Sunday at 2 p.m.
Niagara (15-11, 11-4 MAAC) halted its three-game skid with a 57-54 victory over Marist on Friday night. The Purple Eagles needed the heroics of
Juan'ya Green who drained the game-winning 3-pointer with 1.5 seconds left for his second game-winning triple of the season.
The Purple Eagles, who have had at least a share of first place since Jan. 5, edged Manhattan, 64-60, in the first meeting of the season. The Jaspers (10-15, 8-7 MAAC) have won five of their last six meetings, including having the conference’s longest winning streak at four games.

~ Juan’ya Green became the 42nd member and second sophomore of the 1,000-point club on Feb. 15.

Green Reaches 1,000-Point Threshold
Juan’ya Green became the 42nd member of the 1,000-point club on Feb. 15. Green scored his 1,000th point on a dunk for his points in the game against Marist. Green is the second sophomore in program history to reach 1,000 points, joining Garry Jordan (1977-79).
Road Tough
Six of Niagara’s 10 conference wins have come on the road, including winning five of its first six MAAC road games for the first time in program history.
NU is one win away from tying its best ever conference road record which is 7-2 set during the 2000-01 season.
Double-Digit Conference Wins
Niagara is one of 23 teams to have at least 11 conference wins this season. The Purple Eagles, who have double-digit MAAC wins for the first time since the 2008-09 season, are tied for the fourth most conference wins in the nation.
On The Court
Manhattan Jaspers (10-15, 8-7 MAAC)
Manhattan has won five of its last six games, including four straight for the longest active conference win streak. The Jaspers are led by Rhamel Brown who leads the team with 12 points per game and 7.2 rebounds per game. Brown leads the MAAC in field goal percentage and blocks.
Against the Jaspers (Manhattan, 45-29)
Niagara trails in the all-time series, but has won 12 of the last 16 meetings. The Purple Eagles are 5-2 in their last seven trips to Manhattan (lost last two visits).

NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Niagara men’s basketball team recorded its seventh straight conference win after battling past the Manhattan Jaspers, 64-60, on Saturday at the Gallagher Center.
Dynamic Duo Scoring Leaders
Antoine Mason (18.9) and Juan’ya Green (16.7) are the sixth highest scoring duo in the nation at 35.6 points per game. The duo is the youngest pair on the top list. Iona’s Lamont Jones and Sean Armand are first at 40.9 ppg.
Win’ya!
Juan’ya Green’s knack for late game heroics has earned him the moniker “Win’ya” dubbed by the Voice of the Purple Eagles. Green, who scored game-winners against St. Francis and Sam Houston State last season, has last-second game-winning 3-pointers against Iona and Marist this season while assisting on the game-winning last-gasp 3-pointer in the win versus Canisius.
February Fever
Niagara is 35-16 since the 2006-07 season, including a splendid 21-5 mark at the Gallagher Center. NU opened February with a double overtime setback at home against Loyola and will play three more games in the month including a home BracketBusters game against Northwestern State. NUhas five straight seasons with a winning record during this month.
