NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Niagara women's swimming and diving team open the home portion of the schedule against Youngstown State on Saturday, Nov. 2, and will be joined by the men the following day as the Purple Eagles travel to Waterloo, Ont. to take on the Waterloo Warriors.
Both meets will begin at 1 p.m.

Last Time in the Pool
Niagara traveled to Boston, Mass. to take part in the New England Catholic Invite. The men wrapped up the two-day competition with a 4-1 records, it's only blemish coming against host, Boston College. The women went 2-5, earning victories over LeMoyne and Sacred Heart.
Dynamic Duo
In two days at the NE Catholic Invite,
Shawn Warner and
Shane Baxter combined for six first place finishes and six meet records. Baxter earned three top finishes in the 100 butterfly, 100 backstroke and the 200 backstroke, all in meet record time. Warner earned three first place finishes as a well, winning the 1000 freestyle, 200 butterfly and 500 freestyle in in meet record time.
Warner and Baxter also helped the 400 medley relay team to a top finish (3:32.34) which set a new pool record.
Rookie First
Freshman
Meredith Ricks pocketed her first top finish as a Purple Eagle during the NE Catholic Invite, touching the wall first in the 100 backstroke (1:01.54).
In the Record Books
Warner claimed MAAC Male Swimmer of the Week honors on Oct. 16 after breaking a pair of Niagara records at the Western New York Invitational. The Lake Worth, Fla. native finished the 200 butterfly (1:55.16) and the 400 IM (4:10.15) in record time breaking Mike Smiechowski's and Alex Siuda's previous records, respectively.
