Women’s Swimming & Diving Back in the Pool


NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The women’s swimming and diving team heads to Youngstown, Ohio on Friday, Nov. 2 to battle the Youngstown State Penguins with action set to begin at 5 p.m. 

Last Time Out
The women’s squad participated in a dual-meet last weekend against Cleveland State and Gannon.  The women went 1-1, earning a win against Gannon, 128-109, but losing to host CSU by a 195-48 margin.

Soarin’ Senior
Aubrey Kettrick is starting off her final season for the Purps on the right note.  The Watertown, N.Y. native has earned second place finishes in the 100-, 200- and 50-yard freestyle, and grabbed third-place finishes in the 100 and 200-yard freestyle during the All-Catholic Invite. 

Relay Success
The 400-medley relay team for the women have had impressive showings thus far, earning two third-place finishes and one second place finish.  Their best time has come during the All-Catholic Invitational when Ashley HarringtonClare CurranEmily York and Kettrick combined for a 3:46.66 time.

Seventeen of the 23 swimmers and divers on the Purple Eagle rosters hail from the Empire State, including seniors Julia Bulmahn,  Emily Hughes,  Kettrick and Megan Marcin

Up Next for NU
Both the men and women are back in the pool next weekend in the first home meet of the season.  Niagara will host Siena and Colgate at the Oxy Aquatic Center on Saturday, Nov. 10 in a dual-meet with competition beginning at 1 p.m.
