NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – Both the men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams are back in the pool this weekend when they compete in a dual meet against Siena and Bryant on Saturday, Nov. 12 and then take on Colgate the following day, Nov. 13.
The women saw action this past weekend at the Oxy Aquatic Center. They were defeated by Duquesne, 134-71 Friday evening and dropped a 165-123 decision to the University of Vermont Saturday afternoon.
Junior
Aubrey Kettrick had a strong effort both meets, taking home first place in the 50 yard freestyle (25.32) and the 500 yard freestyle (5:24.10) against Duquesne and the 100 yard freestyle (55.09) and 100 yard butterfly (1:01.57) against Vermont. Senior
Kaley Pfohl placed first in the 1000 yard freestyle, completing the event in 11:15.35.

Ashley Jones nabbed top honors in the 1-meter diving event with a final score of 239.62 and earned second in the 3-meter event (214.80). Junior
Lindsey Jackson won the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:17.81 and placed second in the 100 yard butterfly (1:01.60) and the 200 yard butterfly (2:16.80).
The men’s team was last in the pool against Fredonia, where Niagara earned its first win of the season with a final score of 126-115. MAAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week
Shane Baxter broke the 100 yard backstroke record, clocking in at 52.05 for first place. Baxter also won the 200 yard IM in a time of 2:01.66. Fellow freshman
Corban Bothell took top honors in the 1000 yard freestyle, clocking in at 10:15.52 as well as the 500 yard freestyle (5:04.00).
Senior
Ian O'Rourke won the 3-meter diving event with a final score of 272.05.
Saturday’s meet is set to begin at 1 p.m. while Sunday's meet is scheduled for noon.
