AMHERST, N.Y. - The Niagara swimming and diving team were swept in a dual meet against cross-town rival Buffalo on Saturday afternoon, with the Bulls claiming the men's event by a 152-85 score and the women's event by a 146-90 score.
Senior Ian O'Rourke had another strong outing in the diving events, taking top honors in the one-meter diving event (321.10), while taking second place in the three-meter diving event (348.85). O'Rourke qualified once again for the NCAA Zone-A meet with his performance in the one-meter event.
Freshman Nate Resila took top honors in the 100 yard breaststroke event (1:03.31), while fellow rookie Jake Pisano took third place in the 200 yard freestyle event (1:48.15).
Sophomore Lindsey Jackson won the 200 yard IM event in a time of 2:13.71, while taking second place in the 100 yard butterfly event as well as being a member of the 200 yard free relay team that took top honors in a time of 1:44.88. Freshman Erica Crane won the 100 yard breaststroke event in a time of 1:11.38, while sophomore Aubrey Kettrick took second place in the 100 yard freestyle event in a time of 54.86.
The meet against Buffalo will be aired via tape-delay on Lockport Community Television (LCTV-20) on Saturday night at 9 pm, Sunday morning at 7 am and that night at 7 pm. Check your local listings and LCTV.net for availability.
Niagara will be back in the pool on Saturday, Nov. 20, when they head north of the border to compete against Waterloo.
