KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Niagara softball team will begin the 2009 season playing in the Rebel Spring Games from Feb. 28 – March 5 in Kissimmee, Fla.

The Purple Eagles’ first opponent will be a doubleheader against Big 4 rival St. Bonaventure on Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. Niagara will also face Detroit-Mercy, Lehigh, Holy Cross, St. Francis (Pa.), Valparaiso and Maine. Niagara, who was picked second in the MAAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll, features Preseason All-MAAC team members senior outfielder Felicia Coffey (Mesa, Ariz.) and sophomore second baseman Teresa Healy (Las Vegas, Nev.).
