NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. - The Niagara swimming and diving teams dropped two close decisions to the Duquesne Dukes on Friday afternoon, with the men's team on the short end of a 115-82 decision, while the women's team lost by a 104-96 margin.
The men's team (1-1) was led by sophomore Nick Squire (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) who won the 500 yard freestyle event with a time of 5:09.17. Junior Scott Page (Rochester, N.Y.) pulled off the victory in the 100 yard breaststroke, winning the event in a time of 1:04.43.
The women's team (2-3) was led by two talented freshman in Aubrey Kettrick (Watertown, N.Y.) and Lindsey Jackson (Marietta, Ga.). Kettrick won the 50 yard freestyle event (25.13) and the 100 yard freestyle event (55.39), while Jackson took top honors in the 200 yard freestyle event (2:01.14).
The men's team is back in action on Nov. 7, when they travel to take on Gannon. The women's team is back in action on the Nov. 14, when they travel to take on Cleveland State, Valparaiso and Little Three foe, St. Bonaventure.
