Swimming & Diving Travel to St. Bonaventure

NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. – The Niagara University men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams meet Little Three rival St. Bonaventure Tuesday in a 6 p.m. meet in the Reilly Center Pool.

Both the Purple Eagle squads are coming off losses to the University of Buffalo, while the Bonnies both picked up wins over Canisius last week.

Niagara posted exhibition wins this past weekend over Wilfred Laurier and Waterloo. The men’s team beat Wilfred Laurier, 169-55.50, but lost to Waterloo, 141-102. The women’s squad bested both Wilfred Laurier and Waterloo, 172-72, and 177-65.

Freshman Pat Garvey (Pine Busch, N.Y.) won the 200 free and the 50 fly while classmate James Polito (Reading, N.Y.) was victorious in the 50 and 100 free.

In the women’s races, senior Traci Liberi (Churchville, N.Y.) won the 50 and 100 free and was part of the first place 400 medley relay and 400 free relay teams.
