HAMILTON, N.Y. – The Niagara Univeristy men’s and women’s swimming teams were swept this weekend at Colgate when they lost to the Red Raiders, Loyola and Marist at The Grace H. Lineberry Natatorium.
The Purple Eagle men’s team lost 279-16 to Colgate, 274-16 to Loyola and 278-16 to Marist. The women’s squad fell 280-45 to Colgate, 260-59 to Loyola and 261-65 to Marist.
Niagara’s points on the men’s side came from Brandon Smith and Jason West. Smith finished 11th in the 50 free in 23:04 and 13th in the 500 free in 5:07.55. West was 15th in the 50 free in 23.66.
The on the women’s side, Traci Liberi placed third in the 50 free in 25:59 and fifth in the 100 free in 55.78. Courtney Caley was 14th in the 100 breast (1:18.14) and 11th in the 200 breast (2:45.99). Heather Link finished fifth in the 100 back in 1:03.21.
