Niagara Swimming and Diving Swept By Duquesne


Freshman Dave Germain won both the one and three meter diving events versus Duquesne.

 

NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. - The Niagara University swimming and diving teams were swept by the visiting Duquesne University Dukes tonight at Niagara's Kiernan Pool.

The men's squad (1-2) fell by a score of 146-68, while the women (0-3) lost 133-89. 

For the men, freshman David Germain (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) won in the one meter dive (215.55) and three meter dive (202.09) events.  Junior Nate Katz (Niagara Falls, N.Y./Niagara Falls) placed first in the 50 freestyle with a time of 22.53.

Junior Traci Liberi (Churchville, N.Y./Churchville) was a duel winner for the women in the 50 freesytle (25.21) and 100 freestyle (54.75) and swam the anchor leg in the 200 medley relay with a winning time of 1:53.47.

The Purple Eagle's next action is Saturday November 8 at 1 p.m., as they take on Canisius at Niagara's Kiernan Pool.
