Biography
Why Niagara? “Throughout high school, I was involved in many community service and volunteer activities and I felt I could continue my love for helping others in the Niagara University Vincentian community. I decided on Niagara University for athletics because I knew Coach Clements and Coach Kara together compliment each other’s teaching styles and I knew they were the right fit for me.”
On the Court: Named to the 2009 MAAC All-Academic Team...Played in six sets during her junior season...More than doubled her kill output as a sophomore, up to 245, ranking fourth on the squad...Led the team with 65 blocks in 2008...Recorded a career-high 19 kills to go along with a season-high six blocks against Marist (Sept. 20, 2008)...Led the MAAC in blocking as a freshman with 102 total blocks...Collected a career-best eight blocks twice as a freshman...Attacked at a .184 clip, ranking third on the team in 2008...Ranked fourth on the team with 119 kills in 2007...Totaled 89 block assists which ranks fifth on the school’s single-season chart as a freshman.
Personal: Born in Rochester, N.Y.…Daughter of William and Mary Costello…Has an older brother, Dan, and two younger sisters, Kaitlin and Emily...Majoring in business management.
