Biography
2020-21:
Harpur served as team captain during the 2020-21 season, playing in 15 games where he registered eight assists, second-most among Niagara defenseman.
2019-20:
Harpur ended his junior year with four goals, eight assists. He was named Defensive Player of the Week by the AHA following a big weekend Against Mercyhurst. Harpur registered two blocked shots in the series opener (2/7/20), before blocking three more and adding two goals for a 4-2 victory the following day. He was plus-3 with six shots on goal and earned the first multi-goal game of his career.
2018-19:
Was named to the 2018-19 AHA All-Academic Team…One of seven players to appear in all 41 games, during his second season with Niagara…Collected 13 points (two goals and 11 assists) and 55 blocks…Season-high with one goal vs. Canisius (Nov. 17) and at Air Force Falcons (March 16)…Season-high with four blocks vs. Canisius (March 8).
2017-18:
One of four players to appear in all 36 games...Registered first collegiate goal in a 4-3 win vs. RIT (Jan. 5)...Posted first two points (2 A) in 6-2 victory at Sacred Heart (Oct. 28)...Tied mark for points and assists in a game with two helpers in 6-0 rout at Holy Cross (Jan. 20).
Before Niagara:
Harpur arrives at Niagara after spending the past two seasons with the Cowichan Capitals in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) under head coach Bob Beatty. Harpur had a standout season in 2016-17, serving as the Capitals’ team captain and scoring 39 points (7 G, 32 A) in 54 games played. He ranked fourth on Cowichan in scoring, and placed fifth among all BCHL blueliners in points. Harpur was an assistant captain for the Capitals in 2015-16, playing 58 games and scoring 20 points (3 G, 17 A). His first BCHL campaign came with the Victoria Grizzlies in 2014-15 as he scored two goals and added 13 assists in 56 games.
