Amy Martin is in her ninth season at Niagara and was promoted to associate head coach in April 2021. She works primarily with the goaltenders and defenders while also serving as the recruiting coordinator, overseeing team travel, and managing the team’s social media accounts.
 
Martin has helped coach multiple All-MAAC and IWLCA selections to during her tenure as assistant coach and more recently associate head coach. Most notably, Martin has aided in the tutelage of two-time MAAC Goalkeeper of the Year Michelle Messenger. Messenger also became the programs second IWLCA All-Region selection in 2022. 

Before Niagara, Martin spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Ga. from 2014-16. She coached five Atlantic Sun Conference Second-Team players, two Atlantic Sun All-Rookie selections, and four A-Sun Defensive Players of the Week during her two-year tenure. Martin helped the Owls set program records in overall wins in 2015 and 2016 while qualifying for the conference tournament both seasons.

Prior to Niagara, Martin spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Ga. from 2014-16. Martin's primary responsibilities were coaching the goalies and developing the defensive game plan, as well as, being the main point of contact for incoming student-athletes.

She coached five second team Atlantic Sun Conference players, two Atlantic Sun All-Rookie selections and four A-Sun Defensive Player of the Week during her two-year tenure. Martin helped the Owls set program records in overall wins in 2015 and 2016, while qualifying for the conference tournament both seasons.

Prior to Kennesaw State, Martin was a graduate assistant at Wagner from 2012-14. She developed the goaltenders along with the defense in her two seasons, while also coaching two all-rookie team, two second team all-conference, two first team all-conference members and one NEC Defensive Player of the Year. She helped the Seahawks reach their first NEC Championship game along with achieving their best record since 2005 (11-7).

Martin was a four-year starter in net at Holy Cross from 2008-11. A six-time Patriot League Goalie of the Week recipient, Martin was named the 2010 Patriot League Goalie of the Year as well as landing on the 2010 First Team All Patriot League and All Patriot League Tournament Team. In high school, she won three state and regional championships and was inducted into the Detroit Catholic League Hall of Fame in 2011.

Martin, a native of Detroit, Mich., graduated with a bachelor of arts in English from Holy Cross in 2011 and a master of science in education from Wagner in 2014.
