Appeared in 30 games with 22 starts...averaged 6.8 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.9 assists in 22.0 minutes per game...shot 47.5 percent from the field, 35.2 percent from 3-point range, and 82.1 percent from the free throw line...scored a season-high 14 points at Mount St. Mary's (Jan. 5), going 6-for-9 from the field including 2-for-3 from beyond the arc...posted 13 points against Merrimack (Dec. 8), shooting a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line...dished out 6 assists against Rider (Jan. 12)...recorded 5 assists in multiple games...registered 12 points at Fairfield (Jan. 16).

Before Niagara
Russell played the last three seasons at Northern Illinois (NIU), appearing in 64 games, including 14 starts. As a Huskie, Russell averaged 3.0 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game. He is coming off his most productive season as he averaged 3.7 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.3 assists over 31 games. He scored a season and career-high 14 points at Buffalo on March 8 and has a total of three double-digit scoring efforts in his career.
