Biography

2020-21:
Played in 16 games for the Purple Eagles, blocking 17 shots.

2019-20:
Zielinski played in 27 games, earning six points (1 G, 5 A). He contributed 36 blocked shots throughout his junior year. Zielinski also made the AHA All-Academic Team.

2018-19:
Was named to the 2018-19 AHA All-Academic Team…Played in 37 games during his second season as a Purple Eagle…Collected five points (one goal and four assists) and 41 blocks…Season debut with one block vs. AIC (Oct. 12)…Season-high with one goal at Air Force Falcons (Oct. 25)…Season-high with two assists vs. Canisius (Nov. 17)…Season-high with three blocks vs. Holy Cross (Nov. 9), at RIT (Dec. 15), at RIT (Jan. 5) and vs. Mercyhurst (Jan. 18).

2017-18:
Played in 18 games for Niagara...Earned his first collegiate point at Cornell (Nov. 21)...Finished the season with three assists.

Before Niagara:
Zielinski closed his junior career as a Robertson Cup winner, helping the Lone Star Brahmas to a NAHL South Division title before winning the Tier II national championship under head coach Dan Wildfong. During the regular season, Zielinski placed third among Lone Star defensemen in scoring, posting 20 points (2+18) in 58 games played. He added one assist and a plus-2 rating in the team’s playoff pursuit of the Robertson Cup.
 
In the 2015-16 campaign, Zielinski played in the OJHL with the Kingston Voyageurs, tallying 10 goals and 24 assists in 43 games and adding two goals and five assists in 12 playoff contests. Zielinski was named the Voyageurs’ Top Defenseman and was a Second Team OJHL Fan Favorite Player as Kingston advanced to the OJHL conference finals before falling to eventual league champion Trenton.
 
Prior to Kingston, Zielinski was a longtime player in his hometown Richmond Generals program. During the 2014-15 USPHL season, he posted 21 points in 38 games, earning USPHL Defenseman of the Week honors twice before earning the Generals’ Top Defenseman Award in 2015.
