Tate averaged 23 points per game this past season and scored over 30 points six times, establishing himself as one of the most versatile players in the Washington, D.C. metro area. A three-year captain for Cesar Chavez High School under Head Coach Malcolm Battle, Tate is the 2nd all-time leading scorer in school history with over 1,600 career points. The guard helped lead Cesar Chavez High School to three regular season titles and two conference tournament titles during his illustrious four-year career. Tate, a two-time D.C. Public Charter School Athletic Association All-Conference player, earned 2017 Conference Player of the Year and made the third team All-Metro Washington Post-Season Tournament Team this past season. Having also made the 2017 DMV Elite All-DC team and helping his team make three citywide playoff appearances during his tenure
