Dukes was a prolific scorer in high school playing at Capital Prep Magnet School in Hartford, Conn...He finished his four-year career with 2,228 points to become the 17th player in Connecticut high school history to score more than 2,000 points...As a senior, he averaged 23.9 points, 3.9 assists and 3.0 steals per game. Dukes had 12 games with 25 or more points while helping lead Capital Prep to a 22-3 record...As a junior, Dukes led his team to a 22-4 record and an appearance in the state finals while averaging 21.8 points and 4.0 assists per game...He scored 51 points in a 120-116 double overtime win versus Classical Magnet. ..As a sophomore, Dukes averaged 14.8 points and 6.5 assists per game as Capital Prep went 21-5. In his first five high school games as a freshman he combined to score 160 points for an average of 32.0 per game and finished the season scoring less than 20 points only twice.
