Before Niagara: Attended Ithaca Senior High School and played for Baseball U NY as a club team. Played in a total of four varsity seasons. Senior season pitching stats were 32 strikeouts, 20.1 innings pitched, 1.2ERA, allowed eight hits, and batted .306. Ruth was a two-sport athlete also competing in basketball. Ruth chose Niagara because, “I chose Niagara based on the welcoming community, the competitive energy, and great location. The school is small enough that I feel at home, the team that I play for is good, hardworking, and ready to win, and the towns in and around Niagara are fun and beautiful”.

Personal: Son of Bill and Shelley Ruth…has one brother William…has relatives that played college sports… mother Shelley played volleyball and basketball at Nazareth College…brother William plays baseball at St. John Fisher.
