MacDonald played one season (2018-19) of prep basketball at St. Thomas More in Oakdale, Conn. MacDonald averaged 13 points per game, 3.0 rebounds per game and 2.0 assists per game while shooting over 40 percent from behind the arc. MacDonald, the son of former Canisius College and current Daemen College men’s basketball head coach Mike MacDonald, played high school basketball at Canisius High School. He was member of the team that won the Monsignor Martin League championship in 2017. He captained Canisius as a senior, averaging 12.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game to earn All-WNY Honorable Mention recognition.
