Lawrenceville, N.J. — Niagara swept all three doubles matches to seize the early advantage, then won three of six singles flights to defeat Rider 4-3.
The Purple Eagles built their winning margin in doubles, with all three pairs coming through. Larisa Kotok and Gabriela Melo edged Lisa Dierick and Daniela Naves, 7-6 (7-3), at No. 1. Saloni Tamang and Valeria Mora defeated Elle Catanzarite and Kashish Kant, 7-5, at No. 2. Isabel Garcia and Julia Clarke-Louie closed out the sweep with a 7-6 (7-3) victory over Anna Bong and Jolie Kaiser at No. 3.
Garcia carried her doubles momentum into singles, cruising past Dierick, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 1. Melo followed with a 6-1, 7-5 win over Jolie Kaiser at No. 2. Tamang added a 6-4, 7-5 victory over Naves at No. 4 to give Niagara enough points to clinch the match.
Rider won the remaining three singles flights. Anna Bong defeated Kotok, 7-5, 6-3, at No. 3. Catanzarite outlasted Mora in three sets, 7-6 (7-2), 7-6, at No. 5. Kant topped Clarke-Louie, 6-3, 6-4, at No. 6.
