Women's Lacrosse Dominates Siena

Niagara University, N.Y. — Olivia Ng and Michaela Delles combined for eight goals as Niagara defeated Siena 10-4 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference women's lacrosse Saturday afternoon.

The Purple Eagles improved to 4-7, 3-0 MAAC, while the Saints fell to 6-1, 1-2 MAAC.

Niagara took control quickly. Ng opened the scoring at the 6:43 mark, finishing an assist from Avery Olschefskie to put the hosts up 1-0. Emma Alexander made it 2-0 less than two minutes later at 4:59, and Hannah Kent, assisted by Maive Partlow, pushed the lead to 3-0 just seconds after at 4:17.

Siena's Koehler Nieman answered with an unassisted goal at 2:30 to trim the deficit to 3-1, but Ng responded almost immediately, scoring again at 1:20 to send the quarter to a 4-1 Niagara advantage.

Delles converted a free position shot at 14:17 of the second quarter to push the lead to 5-1. Siena clawed back with two goals, Avery Connolly on a free-position shot at 9:12 and Elizabeth Wamp on a man-up opportunity at 3:42, assisted by Cass Belsito, to pull within 5-3. Delles then answered with an even-strength goal at 1:54, assisted by Maddy Gill, to send Niagara into halftime leading 6-3.

Ng netted her third goal at 10:37 of the third quarter to push the lead back to four at 7-3. Siena's Wamp scored her second goal of the game at 2:55, assisted by Connolly, to make it 7-4. Ng answered on a man-up goal with 27 seconds remaining in the quarter, assisted by Partlow, giving Niagara an 8-4 lead heading to the fourth.

Delles put the game away with two more goals in the final frame, an unassisted tally at 7:43 and another at 4:42, assisted by Gill, to complete her four-goal performance and close out a 10-4 final.
