Hamden, CT – Niagara Softball attempted a comeback against Quinnipiac in the top of the seventh but eventually fell 3-1 at the Quinnipiac Softball Field in Hamden, CT.
Quinnipiac kicked off the scoring in the bottom of the second as Aryn Bombery hit a three-run home run to put the Bobcats up 3-0.
Niagara attempted to come back in the contest as
Hailey Cenname singled to left field in the seventh later in the inning
Jolyn Gibbons would single to right center to allow Cenname to advance to third.
Niagara got on the board in the top of the seventh as Cenname came home off a wild pitch from the Bobcats pitcher Shannon Kendall to make the game 3-1 in favor of Quinnipiac.
Carmella Phelan stated the contests as she pitched the first two innings as she faced 13 batters,
Abbey Steen would come in for relief to pitch the final four innings as she saw 14 Quinnipiac batters.
