Syracuse, N.Y. — Niagara men's tennis fell to Colgate 4-0 on Sunday afternoon at Drumlins Tennis Club.
The Raiders secured the doubles point with victories in two of three matches. Niagara's lone bright spot came at No. 1 doubles, where Aryav Bhawan and Damian Janiszewski defeated Aidan Chung and Tim Viding 6-4.
However, Colgate's Tim Vargas and Wesley Nichols defeated Logan Wong and Sarosh Rustomjee 6-2 at No. 2 doubles, while John Fazli and Adam Fink blanked Ekansh Shukla and Shravan Somasi 6-0 at No. 3 doubles to give the Raiders a 1-0 lead heading into singles play.
Colgate clinched the match by winning three of the six singles matches. The Purple Eagles fought competitively in several matches but couldn't secure a victory.
At No. 3 singles, Jerome Falcon defeated Wong 6-0, 7-5. Aidan Chung was victorious at No. 5 singles, defeating Shukla 6-3, 6-1, and Parker McGowan completed the sweep with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Somasi at No. 6 singles.
