Niagara University, NY - Niagara volleyball defeated Battle of the Bridge rival Canisius in four sets (25-20, 19-25, 25-21, 27-25) to stay undefeated in conference play in the Koessler Athletic Center in Buffalo, NY.
The Purple Eagles improved to 3-8, 3-0 MAAC, while the Golden Griffins fell to 4-9, 2-1 MAAC.
Set One
Niagara started out the game on a five point run with kills from Janiah Robinson, Kinga Wronska and Payton Lee.
The Purple Eagles extended their lead to nine with kills from Sydney Wilkes and Wronska to lead 11-2.
Niagara held the lead the rest of the set to take it 25-20. Lee and Wronska led the Purple and White with three kills apiece.
Set Two
Canisius started off set two with a 13-1 run that was ended by blocks from Robinson and Taylor Jenkins.
The Golden Griffins led by 13 at one time, but the Purple Eagles were able to put together five straight points to make it 21-16.
Despite Niagara's comeback efforts, Canisius tied the game up at one, taking set two 25-19.
Lee once again led the Purple Eagles with three kills in the second set. Kylie Blessing recorded five assists as well.
Set Three
The Purple Eagles rebounded in the third set tallying the first point with a kill from Blessing.
The teams traded points back and forth until Niagara went on a four point run to make it 20-17 with kills from Wronska and Wilkes.
The Purple and White rounded out the third set with kills from Robinson and Katie Jacobs to win 25-21.
Wronska led the team with four kills in the third set, while Paisley Ka'ahanui tallied six assists.
Set Four
The Purple Eagles once again jumped out to an early lead scoring the first three points of the set off Golden Griffins attack errors.
The final set was close the entire time with the game being tied up six times with Niagara coming out on top 27-25 with a game winning kill from Jenkins.

Wronska recorded her third straight double double with a team leading 13 kills and 14 digs
The Purple Eagles tallied 16 blocks with Robinson leading the way with six and Jenkins recording a career-high five
Mia Schaefer and Wronska both recorded aces
