NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – Niagara University Associate Vice President for Athletics Simon Gray has announced the hiring of Matt Bosse as the head coach of the Purple Eagles men's and women's swimming teams.
"The upward trajectory of Niagara Swimming attracted several strong candidates for this critical leadership role." said Gray, "We are excited that Matt Bosse will be our next head coach because of his recruiting and coaching experiences and, importantly, his dedication to developing student-athletes. Matt swam and coached in the MAAC and his knowledge and commitment to the sport will be incredibly impactful for our stellar student-athletes."
Bosse most recently served as an Assistant Coach for the men's and women's swimming and diving teams at Towson University. While at Towson, Bosse was the recruiting coordinator and also oversaw various training groups. During his tenure at Towson, he supported the team in achieving 11 individual CAA event championships, one conference championship relay, 14 individual team records, eight relay team records and one NCAA All-America/National Runner-Up.
Prior to Towson, Bosse served as an Assistant Coach at Fairfield from 2021-22. He was the lead recruiter for the men's and women's teams. Bosse also oversaw stroke group practices and organized team travel as well as managing the social media accounts. While at Fairfield, Bosse helped the program set 17 team records and recorded six individual MAAC Champions.
Bosse got his start in coaching as an Assistant Coach at Wilmington College from 2019-2021.

Bosse graduated from Iona in 2019 with a bachelor's of Business Administration in Finance and was a four year member of the Gaels swimming and diving team.
