Fairfield, Conn. — Niagara (4-23, 2-10 MAAC) fell in the final game of a three game MAAC series against Fairfield, 6-3 at Alumni Softball Field.
How it Happened
Fairfield got on the scoreboard first in the bottom of the first inning with a double off the bat of Ava Armuth. Niagara tied up the game in the fourth when Lindsay Mayo doubled to plate Brianna Delaney.
Delaney gave the Purple Eagles the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning with a two-RBI single to right field that brought home Hailey Cenname and Natasha Limbani.
The Stags took the lead in the bottom of the sixth, putting up five runs with a walk and three singles to plate the runs.
Aubrey Tamayo got the start for the Purple and White, throwing 6.0 innings, allowing four runs on 11 hits. Sage Jackson came in to face two batters allowing walks to both of them before Tamayo came back in.
